Nobles Suffer One-Run Loss at Baton Rouge
|
The Baton Rouge Brass got a stellar effort from pitcher George Johnston, helping Baton Rouge score a win over the visiting Bakersfield Nobles, 3-2. Carl Gray earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 1.2 innings. His record is now 1-1. Baton Rouge, at 20-18, occupies 6th place in the Premier AAA.
Danilo Somera went 1 for 3 against the Nobles. With the game tied in the bottom of the eighth inning, he hit a sacrifice fly that put Baton Rouge in front, 3-2.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Bakersfield manager Timmy Appeldoorn. "The effort was great."
