The Hollywood Shredders went home winners at The Hollywood Bowl, thanks in large part to starter José Salinas. Salinas stifled the Seattle Rocketeers, enabling Hollywood to grab the 7-1 win. Hollywood is now 21-20, while Seattle is 21-20.

The Rocketeers had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Shredders going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old shortstop Luis Tañón came to the plate. Tañón hit a run-scoring double on a 3-1 fastball from Seattle hurler Pablo Valentín. It was Tañón's 9th double of the year.

"The team always comes first," Tañón told a reporter while responding to autograph requests. "Our fans like to come out to see a win, so I'm happy to do what I can to give them that."
