The Boston Patriots got a superb performance from pitcher Roy Roberts, but the Toronto Thunder still won the game, 3-2. Roberts threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball. Getting the save was Ron Murphy, his 10th. The second-place Thunder now have a record of 24-18.

Toronto used the timely hitting of Jon Gore to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Thunder on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"Every loss stings," said Boston manager Brian Fahie. "This one is no exception."
