Drummers Earn 2-1 Win Versus Nobles
|
Runs were at a premium in the Tortolita-Bakersfield matchup.
The Tortolita Drummers did just enough to secure a victory over the Bakersfield Nobles, 2-1, at Jerome Grounds. Nobody did more than pitcher Sixto Bustamante. Reliever Apaghana Shachi picked up the win. His record improves to 2-1. Dave Pickett took the loss.
Tortolita took a 2-1 lead on Omar Luoa's 3rd home run of the season. The solo home run, which Luoa hit in the top of the ninth, left Bakersfield pitcher Dave Pickett shaking his head.
"The old adage is true," said Luoa. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
Tortolita, at 20-20, occupies 4th place in the Premier AAA.
