Flyers Lose By a Run at Baton Rouge
|
Behind the hitting of Mike Henshaw Jr., the Baton Rouge Brass stopped the Pennsauken Flyers, 5-4. Henshaw Jr. was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Brass. The win was credited to Melvin Hanna in relief. His record improves to 2-1. George Boyce took the loss. Baton Rouge raised its record to 20-20 with the win.
Had Carlos Román not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Román hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Brass.
Baton Rouge manager Luis Ruíz praised his team's "energy."
