The Syracuse Starks had to overcome a fine effort from Sacramento pitcher Ken Milligan to win, 4-3, in 14 innings at Stark Stadium. Milligan went 8 innings and allowed 1 run. Syracuse pitcher Emery Kehler got the win. He's now 2-1. Max Schwarzacher was tagged with the loss. The Starks now own a record of 17-24.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 14th inning, when Syracuse second baseman Jeffrey Sparks, facing Max Schwarzacher, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Starks the 4-3 win.

"This wasn't a good win," said Sparks. "It was a great win."
