The Montreal Machine took on the Bakersfield Nobles at Jerome Grounds.
The Montreal Machine beat the Bakersfield Nobles, 5-2. Montreal pitcher and Lowell, Massachusetts, native Tynan Hunter led the way. Hunter got the win, improving to 3-3. He gave up 3 hits and walked 2 over 6.2 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Ken Irvin collected save number 6.
Montreal used a well-timed hit by Mario Ortíz to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Machine ahead, 3-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
Ortíz attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
Montreal currently is in 9th place in the Premier AAA at 17-24.
