The Lake Murray MotorBoaters put one in the win column with an opening day 4-3 triumph over the Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas in 10 innings. The crowd at Heron Field watched Paul Ramsey put on a fine performance. Lake Murray pitcher Dale Hodges got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Doug Holland got the loss.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the tenth for Lake Murray. That's when José Castro hit a run-scoring double off 24-year old right-handed pitcher Doug Holland to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Ramsey said after the game.
