Lighthouse Get Clutch Win, 5-4
The Long Island Lighthouse beat the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 5-4, at The Lighthouse. The win was due in part to left fielder Ron Roberts, who went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Robinson Espinoza earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 3 innings. He upped his record to 3-2. Long Island is now 16-26, while Northern Virginia is 22-20.

The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the ninth. With Long Island trailing 4-3, Roberts hit a fastball from Tetsu Gato for a 2-run single. In the blink of an eye, the Lighthouse had a walk-off win.

"This was a good win," said Roberts.
