Squirrel Monkeys Score Late to Nip Tritons, 2-1
|
The Jersey City Tritons got a superb performance from pitcher John Schneider. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Syracuse. The Squirrel Monkeys won the game, 2-1. Schneider threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. Jersey City's current losing streak is now 5 games.
Syracuse needed the clutch hitting of Mac Kenzie to seal the deal. The right fielder swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Squirrel Monkeys on top, 2-1. For the game, Kenzie had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
