Memphis Upended, 5-3, by Toledo
|
The Toledo Stingers took Memphis pitcher Juan Cervantes's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Magnolia Park. The final score had Toledo getting past the Mockingbirds, 5-3. Cervantes went 6.2 innings and allowed 4 runs, striking out 3. Thaddeus Alambra, now 2-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. Toledo has now won 4 in a row.
Hsiao-lou Rui drove in one run against the Mockingbirds. With the game tied in the top of the sixth inning, he hit a sacrifice fly that put Toledo in front, 3-2.
"This was a good win," said Rui.
