Slumping Tritons Lose Again

The Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys beat the Jersey City Tritons, 5-2. Syracuse pitcher and Moncks Corner, South Carolina, native Todd Turner led the way. The winner was Turner. He threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Brent Golightly. Picking up the save was J.J. Hebert, his 4th.
It could have been a different outcome for Syracuse, had it not been for Diego Guzmán, the 27-year old center fielder . Guzmán contributed a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put Syracuse up, 4-0.
"We're playing like we're capable of," said Syracuse manager Ramón Barrueco.
The losses continue to mount for Jersey City, which has now dropped 7 in a row.
