Northern Virginia registered a win at Beyond the Wall by beating the Buffalo White Walkers, 4-1. Pitcher Wes Johnston was one reason why the Rainbow Mermaids triumphed. Earning his 10th save for Northern Virginia was Juan Carlos Mejía. The triumph puts Northern Virginia at 27-16 for the season.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for José Mondragon? The 27-year old first baseman Mondragon stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put Northern Virginia up, 3-1. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.

"Bottom line," said Buffalo skipper Chris Lau, "we didn't play well enough to win."
