Syracuse used a superb performance from starting pitcher Millard Clement to down the Port Huron Blitzkrieg, 3-1. Clement, now 1-3, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 5, and allowing 1 run. Syracuse currently is in 8th place in the Premier AAA at 19-28.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Starks had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the top of the fifth, when catcher Ángel Román hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Gustavo Rivera and made the score 2-1, Starks. Román went 2 for 4 with 2 singles.

"It wasn't a very good day at the ballpark," said Port Huron manager Steve Ferguson.
