Kansas Rallies to 7-5 Win
|
The Kansas Rainbeaus weathered an outstanding game by Ellenburg third baseman Yll Januzaj to topple the Fighting Dachshunds, 7-5. Januzaj went 2 for 3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Jake Howell snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit over 3 innings. He's now 2-0 on the season. Kenny Flint earned the save, his 14th.
Nathan Dooley hit a bases-clearing double off Fernando Ríos in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Rainbeaus in front, 6-3. In addition to the double, Dooley had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
"We've got a great group of guys," Dooley said, "and we're having fun right now."
Kansas goes to 32-16. The win puts them 4½ games up in their division.
