Flyers Take Tight Tangle
|
The Pennsauken Flyers, despite a fine performance by Montreal pitcher Arvin Lawton, grabbed a 3-2 win in 11 innings at Pennsauken Park. Lawton allowed 1 run over 7.2 innings. The second-place Flyers now have a win-loss record of 30-19.
The Flyers got a clutch hit from third baseman Alaimoana Wiki. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring single to left, to win the game for the Flyers.
"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant Dave Morse, the Pennsauken skipper.
