Tritons Knock Off Redlegs at Sacramento Sanitation Station
|
Sacramento Sanitation Station was the site of a competitive game between the Sacramento Redlegs and Jersey City Tritons.
The Jersey City Tritons overcame a good performance by Sacramento designated hitter John Yossarian to knock off Sacramento, 4-3, at Sacramento Sanitation Station. Yossarian went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Jeremiah Harris earned the save for Jersey City, his 6th.
The Redlegs had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Tritons going into the top of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old first baseman Rick Torraville came to the plate. Torraville hit a solo home run on a first pitch sinker from Sacramento hurler Ken Milligan. It was Torraville's 6th home run of the year.
Jersey City manager Steve Bryan called it "a darn good win."
With the win, Jersey City has a record of 23-27. Sacramento falls to 29-21.
