Nobles Absorb 3-1 Home Loss
|
In a low-scoring contest, Jersey City pitcher John Schneider was marvelous, enabling his team to nab a 3-1 win. Steffen Benton, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 3rd save. Jersey City, at 16-35, occupies last place in the Premier AAA.
Garry Park, who is tied for 5th in the PAAA in extra base hits with 17, went 1 for 5 with a double for Jersey City. In a tie game with one out in the top of the seventh, Park came through with a run-scoring ground out. It put the Tritons in front, 2-1.
"Well, it's always frustrating to lose," said Bakersfield manager Timmy Appeldoorn.
