The Baton Rouge Brass pinned a convincing loss on the Syracuse Starks, 9-2, at Stark Stadium. Claudio Ynegas was a main factor in the win. He went 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for Baton Rouge. Melis Ooyendijk, the winning pitcher, is now 1-0. He went 5 innings, allowing no runs on 2 hits, while fanning 1 and walking 0. "We didn't pitch good, and when you don't pitch good, you lose," said Syracuse manager Gabriel Madrigal.
