Northern Virginia got an elite performance from starting pitcher Kip Hill in securing a 3-0 decision over the Toronto Thunder. Quinton Barnard earned the save, his 9th. The Rainbow Mermaids improved to 19-25.
Northern Virginia starter Kip Hill was a master of his craft. The left-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits over 8 innings.
"Kip -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Rainbow Mermaids manager David Lister. "He was the key to us winning."
