Starks Need Extra Frames to Get Past Tritons
|
The Syracuse Starks picked up a win at Jersey City Grounds, knocking off the Jersey City Tritons, 4-2. Starting pitcher José Carmona played a key role in the triumph. Jersey City's current losing streak has reached 4 games.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Milo Hamilton? The 31-year old second baseman Hamilton stroked a 2-run double in the top of the tenth inning to put Syracuse up, 4-2. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"José was pretty good at keeping their guys off-balance," said Syracuse manager Homer Robertson.
