Baton Rouge Wins, 4-3, Over Flyers
|
The Baton Rouge Brass clipped the Pennsauken Flyers, 4-3, in 11 innings at Brass Field. The standout performance belonged to Baton Rouge pitcher and Freeport, Maine, native Arthur Ward. The win went to Anthony Bailey in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Pablo Gonzáles took the loss. The Brass, at 34-19, lead by one game in their division.
The Brass got a clutch hit from third baseman Paco Hernández. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring single to left, to win the game for the Brass.
"The crowd was boisterous tonight," said Hernández.
