Behind a solid performance from left fielder David Saunders, the Jersey City Tritons defeated the Syracuse Starks, 6-2. Saunders was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Tritons. Jersey City reliever Anthony Carney was the winner. His record is now 2-1. Mario Méndez took the loss. The 7th-place Starks now sit at 24-29.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With two out, Saunders hit a fastball from Mario Méndez for a grand slam home run. The Tritons, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"The crowd was raucous," said Saunders.
