Nobles Get Extra-Inning, 2-1 Win
|
There was never a dull moment in an extra-length game between the Bakersfield Nobles and the Syracuse Starks.
Syracuse wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Adam Walker, falling to the Bakersfield Nobles, 2-1. Walker threw 7.2 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. The Starks have now dropped 5 straight.
Bakersfield used a timely hit from Bill Meeks to get the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 11th inning to put the Nobles ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a difference-maker.
"Our guys just had that look of determination," said winning manager Timmy Appeldoorn.
