Nobles Lose, 2-1, at The Zoo in Syracuse
In a low-scoring contest between the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys and the Bakersfield Nobles, Ben Lane was the X factor. The Syracuse right-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. In 8 innings, Lane surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. James Tucker wrapped it up, recording his 3rd save.

Syracuse went up, 2-1, on Mac Kenzie's 9th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Kenzie hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Bakersfield pitcher David Sullivan shaking his head.

"The object of the game is to score more runs than they do," said Lane. "Mission accomplished."

Syracuse now sits at 28-26, while Bakersfield falls to 29-25.
