Big Day for Salinas as Redlegs Down Pride, 7-0
|
Júlio Salinas helped his team muscle past the Hartford Pride, 7-0. In the game, the Sacramento second baseman was 4-4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Ramiro Ramírez picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 6-2. Larry Cox, who is tied for 7th in the PAAA with a 8.4 K/9 rate, was tagged with the loss. Sacramento is now 31-24. Hartford is 19-36.
There was more than one reason the Redlegs beat the Pride, but Salinas's big at-bat in the bottom of the first was an important factor. He staked his team to a 2-0 lead when he hit a 2-run single.
"We put our best foot forward tonight," said a smiling Salinas.
