The Baton Rouge Brass faced a tough opponent in Syracuse pitcher Cody Beasley, but did just enough to pull out the victory at The Zoo in Syracuse by a final score of 2-1. Beasley went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. The win makes Baton Rouge 27-28.
Baton Rouge used a well-timed hit by Joahan Urdiales to capture the win. The first baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Brass ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"Win or lose," Urdiales reflected afterward, "baseball is a beautiful game."
