The Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys topped the Baton Rouge Brass, 10-3, in USPL Triple A action at The Zoo in Syracuse. The standout performance belonged to Syracuse pitcher and Edwardsville, Pennsylvania, native J.J. Hebert. Hebert, now 3-5, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 8, walking 2, and allowing 3 runs. Syracuse is in 4th place in the Premier AAA with a record of 29-27.

The Squirrel Monkeys got an important contribution from left fielder James Sterling, who in the bottom of the fifth hit a splitter to right-center for a 3-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Squirrel Monkeys ahead, 5-0.

"We hit the ball hard," said Syracuse manager Ramón Barrueco. "Line drive after line drive."
