A 4-RBI performance from Bob Davis helped the Toronto Thunder beat the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 9-1. The third-place Thunder go to 26-19.

Bill Simon had a big run-scoring double for the Thunder in the top of the second inning. With Toronto leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Chris Jackson, who is tied for 10th in the PL in innings pitched with 59.1, and swatted a double to left. It was his 12th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Thunder ahead, 2-0.

Said losing manager David Lister: "Give the Thunder credit. They took advantage of our mistakes."
