Despite a fine performance by third baseman Garrett Kline, the Asheville Highlanders lost to the Squirrel Hill Pierogis, 7-4. Kline was 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The winner in relief was Jed Knight. The left-hander allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. Shan-tang Zhou cracked a home run off Edward Lamb in the bottom of the seventh. His 3-run blast put the Pierogis on top, 5-3. In all, Zhou had 2 singles in addition to the home run, while going 3 for 4.
