The St. Petersburg Thunder beat the Barton Springs Blues, 6-4, at Baby Thunder Dome. Spencer Jeffries starred for St. Petersburg. He was 1-2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Jay Whitney in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Alejandro Paboal took the loss. Mike Parkinson earned the save, his 1st.

Early in the game, Jeffries had a 3-run home run for St. Petersburg. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Thunder on top, 4-1.

"Anytime you're seeing it well, it's a good feeling," Jeffries told the St. Petersburg News.

The Thunder, now 2-0, have stormed out of the gates.
