Liberty Reserves Earn 5-3 Home Win
|
The Philadelphia Liberty Reserves topped the Montreal Machine, 5-3, in USPL Triple A action at Liberty Reserve Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Philadelphia pitcher Tong-kyu Ko. Ko yielded 3 runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 5. His record improves to 6-3. Javier Salinas was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 13 of 13 save opportunities.
The Liberty Reserves got a big at-bat from third baseman Dan Cook. For the game, Cook was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Philadelphia a 3-1 lead.
"When you are able to locate the ball, good things are going to happen," said Ko.
The triumph puts Philadelphia at 36-25 for the season.
