New Orleans Voodoo starter Jesús Ramírez pitched a strong game against the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids at The Voodoo Lounge, leading the Voodoo to victory, 6-2. New Orleans, now 24-21, holds down third place in the Premier League.

Fernando Mezzatesta helped his team take an early lead with a 2-run single. It came in the first inning, making the score 3-0, Voodoo.

"Jesús just settled in and did what he does," said New Orleans manager Chase Sims.
