The Sacramento Redlegs earned a close win over the Pennsauken Flyers, thanks in part to Tom Ward. The Sacramento left-hander played a key role in the 2-1 victory. Bernardo Hernández, now 2-0, was credited with the win in 1.2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 3 and walking 0. The Redlegs raised their record to 36-26.

Kel Allen did his part for the Redlegs, producing a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth inning. For the game, the center fielder went 1 for 4 with a home run.

"It's great when the crowd is energized," Allen said.
