Starting pitcher Nick Middleton pitched well enough to help the Florence Flamingos beat the Pennsauken Flyers, 4-3. The last-place Flamingos now sit at 22-41.

Up to bat in the bottom of the ninth, 24-year old shortstop Matt Sheehan had a chance to be the hero. Pennsauken pitcher Dave Pickett had other ideas. But with one out, Sheehan hit a sacrifice fly. The Flamingos had themselves a dramatic win.

"What a buzz," said Sheehan after it was over.
