Redlegs Suffer 3-1 Home Defeat
|
The Sacramento Redlegs got a superb performance from pitcher Joe Davis, but the Pennsauken Flyers still won the game, 3-1. Davis threw 6.0 innings of 2-hit ball. Gregg Sutherland, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3.1 innings. Lawrence Hayden picked up the save for Pennsauken, his 4th of the year.
Pennsauken used the timely hitting of Kenny Wilson to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Flyers on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Pennsauken manager Culley Adjeng.
Sacramento has now lost 5 in a row.
