Carl Watson was a vital contributor to the 5-4 Syracuse victory over Sacramento. The Starks first baseman went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. With the win, the Starks have a record of 24-39.
Paul Johnston provided some late-game heroics for Syracuse. In the bottom of the eighth inning, he hit a run-scoring single. It came on a first pitch fastball from David Davidson and propelled Syracuse to a 5-4 lead.
"The other side took advantage in some key situations," said Sacramento manager Luis Ríos.
