Baton Rouge left fielder John Smith helped his team beat the Montreal Machine, 8-3. Smith, who is tied for 2nd in the PAAA in triples with 3, went 3 for 3 for the Brass. Montreal now owns a losing streak of 6 games.

With Baton Rouge trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Smith hit a fastball from Marc Maxwell for a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Brass ahead, 2-1.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Smith said.
