The Montreal Machine were defeated, 3-1, by the Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds at Stade Olympique, even though Gary Smith pitched well for Montreal. Montreal's current losing streak has reached 4 games.

Tied up with the Machine in the top of the fifth inning, the Fighting Dachshunds got a boost from shortstop H.R. Pickens. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Pickens saw a 1-2 curveball from Gary Smith and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Ellenburg on top, 2-0.
