Good production from second baseman Martin Mills helped the Baton Rouge Brass topple the Montreal Machine, 10-6. Mills was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 3 times for the Brass. Kevin Webb was the winner. Over 6.2 innings, he yielded 5 runs on 8 hits, with no walks and 7 strikeouts. Baton Rouge now sits at 32-34, while Montreal falls to 29-37.

The Brass got an important contribution from center fielder Bill Barnes, who in the bottom of the third hit a 2-2 cutter to left-center for a 3-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Brass ahead, 5-0.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," Mills said. "We did a good job of that today."
