Thunder Absorb 8-2 Home Loss
|
The New Orleans Voodoo earned a win at Thunder Field, stopping the Toronto Thunder, 8-2. Starting pitcher Alex Thompson played a big role in his team's success. Thompson yielded 2 runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 3, and struck out 6. His record improves to 7-1. New Orleans is now 27-19, Toronto 26-20.
Jorge Valdés's at-bat in the top of the sixth was significant, coming with a runner on 3rd and the game tied, 2-2. The New Orleans third baseman hit a run-scoring single off Chih Hoong to put the Voodoo up.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Valdés told the New Orleans Citizen.
