Tortolita turned a good effort from starter Carlos Gómez into a win over the Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds at Dog Park in Ellenburg. The Drummers won the game, 4-1. Gómez, the winner, moves to 5-1. He threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 2 walks. The save went to Tim Strong, number 17 for him.

Tortolita used a timely hit from Antti-Jussi Sulander to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Drummers ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a difference-maker.

"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Gómez.

With the win, Tortolita goes to 32-35, while the Fighting Dachshunds fall to 31-36.
