Pennsauken and Norfolk duked it out and the Flyers came out victorious.
The Pennsauken Flyers beat the Norfolk Pajaritos by a score of 5-2. Pennsauken shortstop Michael Dixon deserved the lion's share of the credit. Dixon went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Flyers. Wulf Hinkamp, the winning pitcher, is now 4-2. He went 5.2 innings, allowing no runs on 4 hits, while fanning 4 and walking 1.
With Pennsauken leading 1-0 in the top of the fifth, Dixon hit a sinker from Doug Morgan for a 2-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Flyers ahead, 3-0.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Pennsauken manager Dave Morse.
The win puts Pennsauken at 40-28 this season.
