Pennsauken Claims 3-2 Victory
|
The Pennsauken Flyers had to overcome a big game from Norfolk shortstop Nathan Dixon to leave Pennsauken Park with a victory. And they did, winning, 3-2. Dixon was 3-4 with 2 home runs. Álex López got the win, improving to 6-1. He held the Pajaritos to 2 runs on 3 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 8 and walking 4. Irving Rascal picked up the save, his 3rd.
Tied up with the Pajaritos in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Flyers got a boost from left fielder Reinaart Zegers. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Zegers saw a 1-1 fastball from Jorge Deleón and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Pennsauken on top, 3-1.
"We're feeling good in this clubhouse right now after that one," Zegers told the Pennsauken Citizen.
The triumph puts Pennsauken at 39-29 for the season.
