Baldwin 5-for-5 for Sacramento
|
It was a high-five day for Elvin Baldwin, at least for a while.
The Sacramento first baseman got plenty of them from his teammates when he reached the five-hit milestone during today's game against the Bakersfield Nobles, but they were in short supply at the end, as Bakersfield won the game, 7-6. Baldwin finished with an impressive 5-for-5 line, but the Redlegs couldn't hold off the Nobles.
"Elvin was hitting everything," said Redlegs manager Kyle Lucas. "It's too bad the other guys couldn't rise to the occasion."
Elvin Baldwin singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Cordell Dawson in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
In the current season, Baldwin has put up a .333 batting average with 21 hits, 4 home runs, 16 runs batted in and scored 7 runs.
