A 5-RBI performance from Bill Strong, who is tied for 7th in the PAAA in triples with 3, helped the Syracuse Starks beat the Tortolita Drummers, 12-8. Syracuse reliever James Tucker snagged the win, upping his record to 1-1. Richello Dosono shouldered the loss. The win has Syracuse at 24-46.

The Drummers had been locked in a 8-8 tie with the Starks going into the bottom of the eighth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old catcher Ángel Román came to the plate. Román hit a bases-clearing triple on a first pitch fastball from Tortolita hurler Richello Dosono. It was Román's 1st triple of the year.

"No time for posing," said Strong. "The next game will be here before you know it."
