Boone Leads Tritons to 7-2 Win Over Liberty Reserves
|
Jersey City first baseman Lawrence Boone had a 4-RBI performance, which helped his team down the Philadelphia Liberty Reserves, 7-2. The Tritons improved their record to 31-41 with the win over Philadelphia.
José Cuebas was vital to the Jersey City win. He went 2 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fifth with two out, Cuebas hit a 2-run single. It made the score 4-2, in favor of the Tritons.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Jersey City manager Edward Whipp.
