Brass Win at Home, 7-4
|
A 3-RBI performance from Bill Barnes, who is tied for 7th in the PAAA in triples with 2, helped the Baton Rouge Brass beat the Bakersfield Nobles, 7-4. Will Gordon, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2060 draft, nailed down the save. Baton Rouge now sits at 37-35, while Bakersfield falls to 55-17.
Barnes contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Baton Rouge in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 3-2, Barnes took a fastball from Morgan Cartier and stroked the home run to right-center. His 5th home run of the season allowed the Brass to leap in front, 4-3.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Barnes told the Baton Rouge News. "It's as simple as that."
