The Jersey City Tritons beat the Port Huron Blitzkrieg, 6-4, at Port Huron Park. Jersey City catcher Reginald Hunter had an outstanding performance. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. Daniel Watson earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 1.2 innings. His record is now 1-0. Jersey City is now 37-35.
Jersey City used the timely hitting of Sergio Resendiz to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Tritons on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Every time you put a 'W' on the board is always good," said Hunter.
