Bakersfield Bats Quiet in 8-1 Loss
The Montreal Machine beat the Bakersfield Nobles, 8-1, at Stade Olympique. Starting pitcher Luke Little was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. The 5th-place Machine now sit at 40-34.

Henny Clerq was 1 for 4 with a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Montreal. The 29-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Ed Dodman. It was his 27th RBI of the season.

"It feels good to get this one," Clerq told the Montreal Gazette.
