Turner Deals Jersey City 2-1 Setback

The Zoo in Syracuse was the site of a remarkable pitchers' duel.
Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys and the Jersey City Tritons. Syracuse won it, 2-1. Syracuse starter Todd Turner was in command. Syracuse, at 39-36, holds down 6th place in the Premier AAA.
Turner made it look effortless. He scattered 3 hits over 8 innings, while racking up 8 strikeouts. The Syracuse right-hander encountered little resistance from the Jersey City hitters. His season record is now 3-1.
Turner attributed the win to his team's "steely resolve."
