Nobles Take Nail-Biter Over Monsters
The exploits of pitcher José Gonzáles, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2052 draft, helped the Bakersfield Nobles defeat the Monongahela Monsters, 2-0. Gonzáles threw 9.0 innings of shutout ball. Bakersfield is second in the Premier AAA with a record of 42-33.

Dave Scott electrified the crowd in the bottom of the 11th when he took Monongahela pitcher Kirby Perkins deep. His 2-run home run sent the Nobles home winners.

During his postgame press conference, Nobles manager Jesús Román told reporters that he expected a tight game from the get-go. "This had the potential to go down to the wire, and it certainly didn't disappoint," he said, later quipping, "it might've been a little less nerve-racking if I had been watching the game from my couch!"
