Redlegs Rally Late to Nip Brass
The Sacramento Redlegs knocked off the Baton Rouge Brass, 1-0, in USPL Triple A action at Brass Field. Sacramento pitcher and Gulfport, Mississippi, native Tom Ward had an outstanding performance. Chris Evans notched his 10th save of the season. The 9th-place Redlegs go to 32-44.

Sacramento used a timely hit from Clyde Miller to get the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Redlegs ahead, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"Tom was in control from the top," said Sacramento manager Kyle Lucas.
